Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Florvella.
Sandra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2013, I encountered difficulties when I tried to connect with Haitian owned businesses, a moment of frustration turned into a moment of inspiration to initiate the Haitian Businesses Network to connect, promote and support businesses from the global Haitian community. After my difficulties to find business during mid to late 2013.
In March 2014, I founded Haitian Businesses Network which is an online marketing and advertising agency. The company focuses to deliver effective marketing and promotional services to businesses globally. Businesses are exposed via online directory, social media and mailing list. For over 5 1/2 years, I’ve been working alongside businesses in our community throughout the world. There are many talented Haitian entrepreneurs and stupendous businesses in our community and I strongly believe in elevating businesses by promoting them to the world on the Haitian Businesses platform. Throughout the years, we’ve had the privilege to assist, collaborate and partner with countless businesses from around the globe. I’m passionate about sharing the many talented entrepreneurs and stupendous businesses via the Haitian Businesses Network.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe every business ventures come with struggles and smooth days. To me, the struggles are definitely served as lessons along the way. I actually grateful to have obstacles which I turns teaches me valuable lessons to move forward. They make the smooth days so much more enjoyable.

Haitian Businesses Network is an online marketing and advertising agency. The company focuses to deliver effective marketing and promotional services to Haitian owned businesses globally. Businesses are exposed via online directory, social media and mailing list. My main goal is to empower Haitian owned businesses and I’ve been able to work with countless businesses over the years to fulfill my goal. We are the only company who’s main focus solely to promote Haitian Businesses globally. The most rewarding aspect of creating this platform is to be able to connect and relate to many professionals from the Haitian community…
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Oh, this was an unforgettable day and it will forever be at the top of my list. At the age of eight, while still living in Cap-Haitien, my father surprised me and my sibling two siblings with a trip to Milot to visit the majestic Palais Sans Souci and the world 8th wonder, the Citadelle. From the horse ride to the history lesson by our tour guide made it a life-changing day. I was always proud of my country but this experience brought an additional sense of pride in me. Seeing what my ancestors was able to accomplish were a definite eye-opening moment for me.
